North west region association, in collaboration with Innovation Iceland, hosted online workshops on the 2nd of April. Theme of the workshops were how to increase sales over the internet. The workshops were part of the Digi2Market project.

The workshops took place through the program zoom and were streamed on the associations YouTube page. Over 50 companies signed up for the event through the event registration page, over 35 participated interactively through zoom and about 68 watched the stream. It is therefore safe to say that the event was successful.

Unnur Valborg Hilmarsdóttir, managing director of SSNV, presented the potentials of canva.com and demonstrated interactive projects that can be used in marketing. Ingi Vífill Guðmundsson, at Innovation Iceland, talked about the functionality and potentials of Instagram and Instastory in marketing. Selma Dögg Sigurjónsdóttir, at Innovation Iceland, discussed the development of tourism experiences. Increased emphasis on experience can create opportunities for increased product value. Selma also explained 12 steps on how to shape and design experiences. Finally, two topics were covered in the form of interviews. The first interview was with Beate Maria Kury, who is in charge of social media for Kidka. Beate talked about Kidka's experience of marketing through social media and provided good advice to participants. The second interview was with Óskar Sigmundsson, owner and Managing Director of Marós, who has decades of experience utilizing storytelling to market fish. Oskar also had some good points for participants to consider in story-related marketing. Participants were then able to ask questions during the lectures as well as during the interviews.

The workshops are accessible on the North west region association website and on the association's YouTube page.
